Hi! I'm Andrea Hooge. I am an artist and crafter living in East Vancouver. I have been selling my cute and quirky magnets and clothing at indoor and outdoor markets and in a few local stores in Vancouver since 2013. All of my magnets are cut and packaged by hand, so each one is unique! I also create illustrations for clothing, which my partner then screenprints for me by hand.
I have always enjoyed figurative drawing and painting, and creating humorous images of anthropomorphic animals is my way of expressing my sense of humour and general love of drawing. It's always fun to get a laugh out of customers when I'm at a market.

When I'm not making magnets or clothing, I paint and illustrate using oil paints and scratchboard. My work has been shown in several galleries in Vancouver, including Hot Art Wet City, where I have had 5 solo shows. My work is inspired by the nostalgia of vintage children's books and magazines, which was what inspired me to paint a series of vintage doll faces for my first solo show. I called this show, "Dolly," which is the reason behind the name of my shop!
